About Cruzy Cruises
Cruzy Cruises is a small Victorian operator built around a single vessel, Restless Wind. She started life as a navy utility boat, spent more than two decades laid up in storage, and then went through close to two years of work to become a charter boat. The refit added a retractable roof, so the boat can cope with Melbourne weather and still slip under the lowest bridges on the river, along with a liferaft and upgraded facilities. The boat is licensed for 48 passengers plus two crew, with party and celebration cruises quoted for up to 35 guests. Groups book it for birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties, hens parties, Christmas parties, themed nights, dinner parties, corporate functions and weddings, including the ceremony, the reception or both on board. Most cruises stay on the Yarra River, with pick-ups often at Central Pier in Docklands, and the boat heads out onto Port Phillip Bay on request. Food and drinks are flexible. You can bring your own or have someone cater it externally, or ask the team to organise catering and drinks for you – the enquiry form asks which you would like. On a party night the bench seating runs along the cabin with room for a buffet down the middle. Cruzy Cruises also runs boat transfers to big events, including Flemington race days, football, tennis and concerts, leaving from the floating landing at South Wharf in front of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. The trip to the racecourse takes roughly an hour to an hour and a quarter. Bookings go through the online enquiry form or straight to the captain by phone.
