About Able Fishing & Charters
Able Fishing & Charters is a Williamstown operator that many people know for fishing trips, but its main boat, the Bacardi, also works as a private party cruiser. For cruising it is licensed for up to 25 passengers, and every charter reserves the whole boat, so nobody outside your guest list comes aboard. The standard private cruise runs for three hours. Most leave from Gem Pier in Williamstown, with Port Melbourne's Beacon Cove and Docklands' Collins Landing also on offer depending on the date and berth access. From there the skipper can follow Hobsons Bay round to Docklands and on towards the Yarra, or head down the shoreline of Port Phillip Bay when the weather allows. The route is always the skipper's call on the day. On board there is a covered cabin, an open rear deck that can be closed in when it turns cool, and a private toilet. The crew runs bucks nights, hens parties, birthday cruises, client outings and relaxed get-togethers such as reunions. Groups who want to fish can book an exclusive fishing charter instead, with rods, reels, bait and tackle provided. Food can be catered by arrangement, or BYO food and drinks may be agreed in advance. Alcohol, decorations and any entertainment need to be cleared with the crew first so everything stays safe on the vessel. Send an enquiry with your date, numbers and preferred departure point.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests can come on a private cruise?
Up to 25 people can come aboard the Bacardi for a cruise, or 20 on a fishing charter. A minimum of six passengers applies to every booking.
Where does the boat leave from?
Gem Pier in Williamstown is the main departure. Private cruises can also start from Beacon Cove in Port Melbourne or Collins Landing in Docklands, subject to the date and berth access.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Catering can be organised, or BYO food and drinks may be allowed by prior agreement. Alcohol is always subject to the skipper's safety rules and the booking conditions.
Can we decorate the boat for a hens or birthday cruise?
Yes, as long as you check with the crew first. Anything you bring has to be fixed securely, suit a working boat and come down quickly once the charter ends.
Can a bucks group fish as part of the day?
Yes. Exclusive fishing charters reserve the Bacardi for four or five hours with rods, reels, bait and tackle supplied, so a bucks group can fish instead of, or as well as, cruising.
