About Bounce Audio
Bounce Audio started in South Yarra in 2013 as a record shop for the city's house, techno and disco crowd, and founder Johan Elgstrom, a working DJ, began renting out DJ and sound equipment to private parties and venues from the start. Today the shop on Chapel Street in Prahran is a hire and service centre for Pioneer and Technics gear, still staffed by people who play out themselves. Hire is designed to be simple. Packages come ready to plug in with cables included, and you book online by choosing dates, adding gear and checking out. The range runs from a compact Bluetooth PA and battery uplights through PA systems sized for 70 to 350 guests, RX3 and XDJ controller bundles, vinyl setups and full CDJ and mixer club packages. Wireless microphones, subwoofers, projectors and screens, haze machines, lasers and DJ risers can be added. Rates are overnight, and there is no minimum hire period. Collect from the Prahran shop during opening hours and staff will help load the car, or ask for delivery anywhere in Greater Melbourne, with the fee depending on location, timing and how much gear is going. The team mainly does do-it-yourself hires but can install and pack down for more involved events. A refundable bond applies to every hire. How do I book with Bounce Audio?
Bookings are made online: choose your dates, add the equipment or package to your cart and check out. You can also send an enquiry and the team will help you work out the right setup.
Can I hire gear for just one night?
No. Hire is charged at the overnight rate shown on the website, so a single night is fine, and multi-day hires up to two weeks are discounted automatically.
Does Bounce Audio deliver?
Yes, across Greater Melbourne. Delivery is priced on location, timing and the amount of equipment, or you can collect from the Prahran shop and staff will help load your car.
What do I need to bring when I collect?
A current Victorian driver's licence and a recent document showing your address, no older than three months, such as a utility bill or bank statement. Both can be shown on your phone.
Is there a bond?
Yes. Every hire carries a refundable bond equal to the hire cost or $300, whichever is greater, returned once the equipment comes back without problems.
