About Creative Booth
Creative Booth is a photo booth business started by Newcastle couple Pennie and Ray, who wanted guests to have a space to be silly and capture the antics that usually go unrecorded at a wedding. Ray looks after the technology and Pennie runs the organising, with a small team of attendants for larger events. Its area takes in the Hunter Valley as well as Newcastle and Port Stephens. There are three booths to choose from. The Party Booth is slimline and guest-driven: no backdrop is needed, so it can face the dance floor, and guests make photos, GIFs and Boomerangs that go out by SMS or email. The Open Booth adds an attendant to keep people coming back, a premium backdrop, props, a custom or ready-made photo template and a private online gallery. The 360 Booth is a small platform for three or four people with a camera circling around them, slow-motion edits, a music track of your choice and instant sharing by SMS or QR code. Each booking is full event hire of up to five hours, so the booth stays for the whole reception rather than a short slot. You can add shiny disco balls, a greenery wall, a memory album or an audio guest book, and choose a backdrop and template from the range shown on the site. Weddings are a big part of the work, but the booths also go to birthdays, Christmas parties and corporate functions. Couples mention the team contacting the venue to sort out set-up details and having everything ready before guests arrive.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Creative Booth cost?
The Party Booth starts at $499, the Open Booth at $1,049 and the 360 Booth at $2,199. Each is full event hire of up to five hours. Send your date and venue for an exact quote.
What is the difference between the booths?
The Party Booth is run by guests themselves with no backdrop. The Open Booth comes with an attendant, props and a premium backdrop. The 360 Booth films short slow-motion videos of small groups on a platform.
How do guests get their photos?
Photos and clips are sent to guests on the night by SMS, email or QR code, depending on the booth, and every shot is gathered into an online gallery after the event.
Can we add a guest book?
Yes. Add-ons include an audio guest book and memory albums, plus greenery walls and disco balls to dress the booth area.
Does Creative Booth travel to Hunter Valley venues?
Yes. The business is based in Newcastle and says it covers Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens, so vineyard and estate weddings in the valley are within its area.
