About Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club has looked after this stretch of sand on the Woy Woy peninsula since 1922, and its clubhouse on The Esplanade at Umina Beach doubles as a function venue. The building faces Broken Bay, so guests look out over the water to Lion Island, and on a clear evening the sun sets across the bay. Hire is arranged directly through the club office. Functions are held upstairs in the club's auditorium, which seats up to 130 people at round banquet tables and opens onto a large undercover balcony that runs along the front of the building. The balcony works for a ceremony, pre-dinner drinks or simply time outside between courses. Tables and chairs are supplied, there is a large free car park, and the room is fitted with two big plasma screens and a digital projector for speeches, slideshows or presentations. The club has a full catering kitchen and its own licensed bar, so food and drinks can be handled on site. It hosts weddings as well as conferences, training days and product launches, and is also offered for other special occasions such as milestone celebrations. Club house rules apply on the night: neat dress with proper footwear, no pets other than assistance animals, smoking only in the designated outdoor areas and sand left downstairs. Enquiries go to the club office, which is staffed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 3pm and on Friday mornings.

I had a nice view of the Tasman Sea. I just wish Margarita Daze didn't play music on the outside of there restaurant (as it interrupted the sound of the ocean).
