About The Greengate Hotel
The Greengate Hotel is a Federation-style brick pub on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Greengate Road in Killara, on Sydney's upper North Shore. Downstairs it runs as a local pub and bistro with a sunny patio; upstairs is a floor of function rooms that can be booked one at a time or together, for anything from five guests to 220. There are five rooms. The Terrace Room and Verandah holds 70 standing or 24 seated, with French doors onto a sunny terrace. The Private Bar and Balcony takes 80 standing or 32 seated and comes with a small adjoining room for breakout or storage. The Heritage Terrace Room has its own bar and takes 100 standing or 40 seated, and it opens onto The Atrium, a covered rooftop terrace with valley views that holds 120 standing or 80 seated; its sides roll down and heaters come on when the weather turns. Put those two together and you can seat 120. The Boardroom seats 12 for meetings or a small dinner. Room hire runs from $220 for the Boardroom to $330 for the Terrace Room or Private Bar and $440 for the Heritage Terrace Room or The Atrium. Every private event needs food for all guests from the function pack, starting with canapés at $38 per person. There are also grazing stations, alternate-serve set menus and a chef's shared menu, plus standard, premium and non-alcoholic drinks packages or a bar tab.

No. Under the function terms, drinks packages can't be used for 21st birthday parties, and parties for 21st to 25th birthdays must have hotel security at the host's cost, with a parent or guardian present.
Are there any surcharges?
Yes. A 5% service charge applies to food and drink on the final bill, events on a Sunday carry a 10% surcharge and public holidays 15%. Outside food and drink can't be brought in.

The steak sandwich was just perfect, chips was ‘OMG so good’. The chicken schnitzel wasn’t the best. I enjoyed the cocktail. Very busy & I would recommend booking for big groups. I recommend this place & would go back.
