About The Fat Cat
The Fat Cat is a family-owned cafe, restaurant and wine bar at the back of the Camden Village Court, Shop 8-9 at 180-186 Argyle Street. The cafe trades by day, while the restaurant and wine bar side of the business is reserved for private functions. The quickest way in is from the Murray Street side, where there is parking a short stroll from the door. The function space is a dark, intimate dining room with exposed-brick murals, a chandelier and a back bar lined with wine and spirits. Set up with long dressed tables, the main room seats around 70 people, and opening up the whole venue lifts the count to about 90. It is fully air-conditioned, and the family can adjust their hours to suit the timing of your event. The kitchen caters each function itself, and the team will tailor the food to the occasion rather than working from a fixed package list. They host birthdays, intimate weddings, christenings, cocktail parties and business networking nights, and can point you towards local musicians and cake makers. Prices are not published, so send through the enquiry form on the private functions page with your date and guest numbers to get a quote.
