About Terrace Hotel
Terrace Hotel is a casual local pub at 83 Mount Street in North Sydney, about a minute on foot from North Sydney station and a short walk from the Victoria Cross Metro. Day to day it runs as a bar, bistro and sports pub, and it takes private functions of all sizes, from small get-togethers to large parties that fill the whole building. There are two main areas. The Balcony is a covered open-air space holding about 50 people cocktail-style or 30 seated, with TV screens and a microphone for speeches or a slideshow. The Main Dining Room also takes 50 standing or 30 seated, has customisable seating, HDMI screens and AV, and can be cleared so the middle of the room becomes a dance floor. Book the whole venue and you get both, up to 150 guests, with private use of the in-house sound system so you can plug in your own playlist. A common format is drinks and canapés outside first, then a sit-down meal or dancing inside. Food runs from 20-piece canapé and substantial platters to shared feasts (Italian, Indian or a pub-style Terrace feast) and plated two- or three-course menus, with dietary requirements catered for. Drinks come as standard or premium packages of two to four hours, or as a pre-paid bar tab. BYO is not allowed. A minimum spend is agreed at booking, a 25% deposit secures the date and final numbers are due 14 days out.

What do function menus cost?
Plated sit-down menus cost $75 per person for two courses or $85 for three, for groups of 15 or more. Shared feasts and platters are also offered; ask the venue for current feast pricing.
What drinks packages are there?
The standard package is $50 per person for two hours, $65 for three and $75 for four. The premium package is $60, $75 and $85. A pre-paid bar tab is another option, and BYO is not permitted.
Can we play our own music or have a dance floor?
The main dining area can be cleared into a dance floor. Using the in-house sound system with your own playlist, or bringing live entertainment, requires an exclusive booking.
Is there a deposit or minimum spend?
A 25% deposit reserves the space and the balance is paid three days before the event. A minimum spend is agreed at booking, and any shortfall is charged as venue hire.

I've never eaten there only drank so I can't rate the food, atmosphere is what you make it..there's always friendly people there, relaxing with background music, there's a balcony for smokers which is heated with ceiling…

The kitchen was closed on a Monday night so didn’t get to sample the food. Did have a beer though which was quite good. Friendly service and an unpretentious suburban RSL club vibe.
