About Melba's Rooftop @ Cruise Bar & Restaurant
Melba's Rooftop is the third and highest level of Cruise Bar & Restaurant, which occupies the Overseas Passenger Terminal on the western side of Circular Quay in The Rocks. The two floors below hold Cruise's main bar, courtyard and restaurant, and the rooftop runs as its own bar with a Mexican-leaning menu, open Thursday and Friday from 4pm and weekends from midday. The space mixes indoor and outdoor areas. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Opera House and the harbour; outside there is a balcony directly opposite the Opera House and a terrace under a clear-roofed marquee with views to the skyline. For semi-private bookings the rooftop is split into sections: the Centre Bar and Quayside areas take 24 guests each, the Balcony 54 and the Marquee 56. Taken as a whole, the rooftop holds 400 standing or 50 seated, and all three levels combined can take more than 1,100 people. Three package styles cover most parties: shared grazing and platters from $90 per person, free-flowing canapés from $140 and a two- or three-course seated menu from $120, each paired with a choice of beverage package. Add-ons include a seafood bar, hibachi station and gelato cart. Exclusive bookings include a PA, microphone, DJ deck and basic theming, and every event is run by a dedicated coordinator.

What happens if it rains?
The rooftop has indoor areas and a covered marquee terrace, and the team puts wet weather plans in place so the event can go ahead.
