About Door Knock
Door Knock is a basement cocktail and wine bar at 70 Pitt Street. To get in, take the passage on the left-hand side of Batch Espresso and knock on the door at its end, which sets the mood before anyone has a drink. Inside, the room is dim and warm, with stone walls, pleated lamps, leather banquettes and high tables. The drinks lean European, with aperitivo-style cocktails and a curated wine list, and the kitchen sends out share plates. There are two ways to host a group. Exclusive use of the full venue suits up to 120 standing or 100 seated, and the team pitches it at milestone birthdays, engagement parties, Christmas parties and networking nights. At the rear, a semi-private dining room is screened from the main bar by a curtain and seats 14, or fits 20 standing, while still hearing the buzz of the bar. Functions run on two-hour food and drink packages or on consumption. The Standard package, at $85 per person, covers house-made dips, mixed nuts, a lobster roll and a gourmet slider for each guest, with prosecco, house wines, tap beers and soft drinks. The Luxe package, at $125 per person, adds a three-cheese plate, a second slider, and classic or signature cocktails with house spirits.
