About Beer Garden @ Iron Duke Hotel
The Iron Duke Hotel is a local pub at 220 Botany Road, Alexandria, with a long craft beer list, cocktails and wine and a menu of pub classics alongside seasonal dishes. Its beer garden is the main event space, and the pub regularly hosts birthdays, engagement parties, staff events and community presentations there. The garden is large and green, planted with vines and rainforest species under the canopy of a big yellowwood tree. Low and high tables sit around open floor space, so it can be set for a seated meal for 100 or a standing party for 150. Groups of 30 to 50 can have a section closed off for them while still being part of the pub's crowd. Gas heaters take the edge off cooler nights, there is a smoking area and an AV plug-in for music or speeches, and dogs are welcome. If the group is smaller, the pub also offers a dining room seating 20 and a public bar with a large projector screen for up to 100 standing. The canapé package is $34 per person for a minimum of 30 guests and includes five picks from a list running from sourdough crostini and vegetarian sushi to lamb skewers, sliders and caramelised pork belly. A one-course set menu is $35 per person for 25 or more, grazing items can be ordered by the piece, and antipasto or charcuterie boards serve about 20. For a centrepiece, the kitchen will roast a whole lamb or suckling pig over coals in the garden, priced at market rate.
