About Allegro
Allegro is a family-run function property at 1 Porters Road, Kenthurst, in the Hills District of north-west Sydney, about 35 minutes' drive from the CBD. The white Mediterranean-style villa sits in O'Hara's Valley among tall gum trees and several acres of private gardens, and only one event is booked at a time, so the house, grounds and parking are yours for the day or night. Inside, the main dining hall has exposed timber beams and columns, a five-metre ceiling, candelabras, a fireplace and a grand piano, with a 40 square metre dance floor at its centre. It seats around 190 guests at round or long tables, or takes about 300 standing for a cocktail-style party. Behind it, a covered terrace bar looks straight into the treetops above O'Hara's Creek and is used for pre-dinner drinks, canapés and smaller balcony dinners. There is also a garden gazebo, a private retreat room, full air conditioning in summer and off-street parking for around 70 vehicles. Allegro works as a venue-hire package: tables, banquet chairs, linen, cutlery, crockery, glassware, a buffet setup and a DJ sound and lighting system are included, and you bring a licensed caterer, who gets use of the kitchen from two hours before the start. Hire is $50 per person for a four-and-a-half-hour event, and minimum spends apply by day, starting at $4,500 from Monday to Wednesday. Bar staff and a beer, wine and soft drink package can be added. Besides weddings, the team hosts birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, school formals, conferences and wellness days.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests can Allegro hold?
Numbers depend on the table layout, but the venue generally seats about 190 guests or holds around 300 for a cocktail-style event.
What are the minimum spends?
Minimum spends are set by day: $4,500 Monday to Wednesday, $5,000 on Thursday, $6,000 on Friday, $7,000 on Sunday and $7,500 on Saturday. The hire itself is charged at $50 per person for a four-and-a-half-hour event.
Do we need to organise our own food?
Yes. Allegro supplies the venue and equipment, and you engage a caterer licensed with Restaurant and Catering NSW. The caterer can use the ovens, stoves and barbecue from two hours before your start time, and the venue can suggest caterers who know the kitchen.
Can Allegro run the bar?
Yes. A beer, wine and soft drink package is $25 per person, served by bar staff charged at $65 per staff member per hour. Table service of drinks can be booked at the same hourly rate.
How late can an evening event run?
Evening events can finish at midnight from Monday to Saturday and at 10pm on Sunday. Starting an evening event before 5pm attracts a $500 early-start fee.
