About Sydney Harbour Bike Tours
Sydney Harbour Bike Tours is run by a family and once traded as Boomers Bike Tours. It guides small groups around the harbour on electric bikes. Rides set out from 169 William Street in Darlinghurst on Kalkhoff Jubilee e-bikes, a comfortable step-through model that suits a range of fitness levels. The guides are lifelong Sydneysiders who mix history and stories with tips on where to eat, drink and explore. The Sydney Harbour Discovery Tour runs for three hours from 10am and covers about 24 kilometres, heading past Woolloomooloo, Mrs Macquarie's Chair and the Opera House, across the Harbour Bridge and on to Pyrmont and Darling Harbour. The Harbour Bayside Ride takes a similar time and goes east instead, through Rushcutters Bay, Double Bay and Rose Bay. Groups stay small, at six or seven riders, with a guide up front and a second bringing up the back. Most of the riding is on bike lanes and shared paths, with roads making up only around a tenth of the distance. For birthdays, catch-ups with friends and work outings, the team can plan a custom ride. Corporate tours can be built around team building or entertaining clients, and can include lunch and stops such as a museum, while bespoke rides can also head out to the beaches. Riders need to be at least 12 years old and able to ride a bike, with anyone under 18 accompanied by an adult. A height minimum of 150 centimetres and a weight limit of 120 kilograms apply.
