About The Gentleman Magician
The Gentleman Magician is Bruce Glen, a Sydney magician who belongs to London's Magic Circle and holds the rank of Associate of the Inner Magic Circle, which fewer than 350 magicians worldwide share. Many Sydneysiders know him from The Gentleman Magician's Magical Soirée, a 90-minute evening of magic and Australian stories that has run every weekend for more than ten years and is staged on Friday nights at Castlereagh Boutique Hotel in the CBD. Away from the soirée, Bruce takes on a limited number of corporate and private bookings each month. His roving close-up magic suits cocktail hours and pre-dinner drinks, where he moves between small groups of guests and gets conversations started. He plays weddings and anniversaries, staff events and client functions, product launches, conferences and training seminars, and he counts weddings as a speciality. He calls his approach Magic with Manners: a warm, courteous style shaped by a background in media and marketing, with every guest treated as a VIP. He has also taken his storytelling magic for adults to the Edinburgh Fringe, the Edinburgh Magic Festival, and the Adelaide and Perth fringe festivals. Prices for private and corporate events aren't published, so bookings are quoted after a call or email with the date, venue and guest numbers. Anyone who wants to see him work first can buy a ticket to the public soirée, which costs $54.95 and suits guests aged 10 and over.
