About The Jade Teahouse

The Jade Teahouse is a small, privately run cafe inside the Camellia Gardens at Caringbah South, surrounded by ponds, a rose garden and lawns where visitors feed the ducks. Tea is the point of the place: the house blends its own loose-leaf range, from several chais and Earl Grey variations to herbal and green blends, including two caffeine-free teas made with children in mind. High tea is served every day of the week, and the menu changes with the seasons. An adult high tea begins with a tea tasting and a scone with homemade jam and cream, followed by a stand of sweets such as macarons, mini cupcakes and caramel tarts, with savoury quiches, finger sandwiches and a chicken wrap, plus one hot drink. Teens and children have their own versions, and a lighter low tea suits smaller appetites. Sittings last two hours; on weekends they run at set times across the day, and on weekdays tables start between 9:30am and noon. Parties of 17 or more are treated as functions on the teahouse balcony, which seats up to 34 and fits 40 standing. The function fee covers high tea and a drink for 30 guests with two hours in the space, and hosts can bring a celebration cake, flowers, balloons, name tags and small party games. Wedding celebrations get three hours, the choice of finger food with room for a first dance, and BYO champagne, wine or beer. Weekday business bookings with breakfast boxes or grazing platters are offered too, and every booking is made by phone.

Nice place to spend the day. Coupe of kids playgrounds if you have little folk to entertain. There is also plenty of birds to feed (no bread please). Might try high tea next time 😀
