About One Dining Teahouse
One Dining Teahouse is a restaurant and bar within the Chinese Garden of Friendship, the walled garden at the southern end of Darling Harbour in Haymarket. Its dining rooms of dark timber, lattice screens and round banquet tables look out over the garden's ponds and pavilions, and it serves a la carte dining, set menus, cocktails and a Chinese fusion high tea. The high tea is a curated mix of savoury bites and sweet delicacies with Chinese flavours, served on tiered stands with tea. There are three sets to choose from: a weekday set, and two larger sets available every day. Each includes entry to the Chinese Garden of Friendship, so guests can take a slow walk through the grounds as part of the outing. High tea bookings run from 11am to 3pm, with tables available until 4pm. For celebrations, the restaurant styles tea parties for birthdays, festive gatherings and corporate groups, with custom menus and table arrangements handled by its events team. Groups larger than 20 should contact the team directly by email to arrange their booking. The venue also hosts conferences, staff parties, weddings and Chinese banquets in private and semi-private spaces, so a high tea can be scaled from a small table of friends to a full function.
