About Guru Entertainment
Guru Entertainment is the DJ business of Alex Rojas, who performs as DJ Alejandro Maistro. He works as a DJ, MC and video DJ, has spent more than 15 years in the entertainment industry, and handles weddings, engagements, birthdays and corporate functions around Sydney. Clients deal with him directly throughout the planning, which keeps communication simple. Weddings are a major part of the work. After booking, couples receive a music form and a questionnaire listing popular choices for moments such as the cake cutting and the bridal waltz, covering music from the 50s to the 90s, ballads, dance, RnB and Top 40. Songs that are not on the list can be added and sourced, ethnic music is welcome, and requests can be taken on the night with an eye on what will keep the floor full. On the day he liaises with the other suppliers so the couple can relax. For birthdays he plays milestone parties from Sweet 16s and 18ths through to 60ths. School discos, formals and debutante balls are handled with clean versions of every track, and he helps guide the schedule and works alongside venue staff. Corporate clients book him for functions and Christmas parties, and the end of the year fills up early. A DJ and karaoke package adds a JBL PA, four microphones, a monitor speaker, a song search kiosk, LED lights and a library of 50,000 songs, with lyrics shown on the venue's TV where one is available. The site also offers a DJ and saxophone duo and a DJ cover band for bigger events.
