About Friendly DJs and Trivia
Friendly DJs and Trivia is run by Jono Condon, a DJ, MC and trivia host based in Homebush. He began with local entertainment agencies, then started his own business under the name Immersive DJs and Trivia before renaming it and bringing in other DJs and hosts to cover the events he cannot do himself. The team works across Sydney and the ACT and plays open format, taking requests in almost any genre, with Jono's own sets leaning to pop, dance, disco, RnB and rock. The point of difference is that one host can do several jobs. The same person can DJ, MC the formalities, run trivia or bingo and lead party games, whether that is a wedding with trivia about the couple, a corporate end-of-year party, a milestone birthday from a 1st to an 80th, or a school formal. Kids parties get musical games such as scavenger hunts, dance battles and pass the parcel, and the team also runs discos for disability support services. Karaoke adds a pair of microphones, lyrics on an iPad stand, club lighting and a host. The standard sound package includes a portable DJ booth, a Reloop controller, a Yamaha mixer, two Sennheiser wireless microphones and two RCF 15-inch speakers suited to about 300 guests, with paid upgrades adding speakers and subwoofers for 400 to 500 or more. Lighting ranges from a clean uplight and lightbar setup that suits wedding photos to a retro disco rig with lasers, strobes and fog. DJs hold police, Working With Children and NDIS worker checks and carry public liability insurance, and clients can build their own playlist.
