About Rainbow Children's Entertainment

Rainbow Children's Entertainment is a small team of character entertainers based in North Richmond. Founder Jessica has been performing at children's parties since 2011 and trained in both acting and early childhood education. The team visits homes, parks, halls, preschools and community events through the Hawkesbury, the Hills District, the Blue Mountains and Western Sydney, and travel is free within 40 kilometres of North Richmond. Every entertainer holds a working with children check and public liability insurance. Parents pick a character to match the party theme, such as Pirate Pippa, Super Jess, Princess Pearl, Mermaid Madeline, Giggles the Clown, Fairy Lavender or Jungle Jess, and there are Christmas and Easter characters for the holidays. Birthday packages run from one to two hours. They combine bubble catching, a short magic show with puppetry, dancing and themed games, a photo opportunity and a gift for the birthday child, and the longer options add face painting or balloon twisting. Face painting can also be booked on its own or paired with balloons, with the painter in costume and using professional water-based paints. The shows are pitched at children aged roughly two to eight, and the games work for ages three to ten. Bigger groups can have two entertainers. Preschools, playgroups and OOSH centres can book a 30-minute pirate magic show with Harry the Dog, a puppet, followed by games. Jessica and DJ Nick also run kids discos with mixed music, dance games and small prizes, and roving characters are available for shopping centres, school fetes and corporate family days.

Frequently asked questions

How much does face painting from Rainbow Children's Entertainment cost?

Face painting on its own is $220 for one hour with up to 10 children, $280 for 90 minutes with up to 15, and $330 for two hours with up to 20. Face painting with balloon twisting is $320 for 90 minutes with 12 children or $380 for two hours with 16.

What is included in a birthday party package?

Rainbow Bop ($385, one hour, up to 10 children) has a character entertainer, bubble catching, a mini magic show with puppetry, a dancing game, a themed game, a photo opportunity and a birthday gift. Rainbow Twist ($445, 90 minutes) and Rainbow Sparkle ($495, two hours) add face painting or balloon twisting depending on numbers.

Which characters can we book?

The line-up includes Pirate Pippa, Super Jess, Bat Hero, Princess Pearl, Mermaid Madeline, Giggles the Clown, Fairy Lavender, Fairy Rosie, Leahlani the Hula Girl, Yasmine the Unicorn, Jungle Jess and Disco Diva, plus Christmas and Easter characters. They can also create a character to fit a particular theme.

What do we need to set up for the entertainer?

Have an adult-sized table and two chairs ready for face painting, and a clear, level area where the children can sit for the magic show and play games. Outdoors in summer the space should be shaded, a picnic rug helps, and a sheltered spot is needed as a wet weather backup.

How do booking and payment work?

Once your date is confirmed there are 48 hours to pay a $60 deposit, which isn't refundable, and the balance is due a week before the party. Parties less than two weeks away are paid in full up front. Payment is by bank transfer only, so no cash changes hands in front of the children.
