About FairyFrog Faceart

FairyFrog Faceart is run by Chere, a face painter and balloon artist based in Sydney's Inner West. She paints at children's birthday parties, markets, community events and corporate family days, and her local patch takes in Newtown, Marrickville, Leichhardt, Balmain, Glebe, Barangaroo and Haymarket. The business describes itself as neurospicy and queer friendly, so every child and family can feel at ease at the painting chair. There are three package types, each bookable from 1.5 to 3 hours. The face painting package covers about 18 children in the shortest booking. A combined package adds basic balloon twisting, while the advanced balloon twisting package produces roughly 25 to 45 sculptures an hour depending on the designs chosen. Glitter tattoos, custom glitter tattoos, temporary tattoos, custom stencils and costume requests can be added, and extra time is sold in 30 minute blocks. Chere also puts together custom packages, from balloon flower deliveries to doodle drawing parties, and offers event photography. For corporate and retail work she has painted and twisted for Kmart Lidcombe's Wishing Tree Appeal launch, Bunnings Randwick, Laing and Simmons Artarmon, and end-of-year parties for HSBC and AIA. Where an event needs several artists, she can organise extra face painters and balloon twisters from her local network with about a week's notice. She holds a Working With Children Check, public liability insurance and a national police check, and weekend dates tend to fill four to six weeks ahead.

Frequently asked questions

How much does FairyFrog Faceart cost for a birthday party?

Face painting starts at $255 for 1.5 hours, which suits about 18 kids. Face painting with basic balloon twisting starts at $270, and advanced balloon twisting at $320 for the same time.

How many balloon sculptures can Chere make in an hour?

With the advanced balloon twisting package she makes roughly 25 to 45 balloon sculptures an hour, depending on how complex the chosen designs are.

What does the host need to provide?

One table and two chairs of matching seated height are needed, not a coffee table. If that is tricky, Chere can bring a table and chairs for an extra $20 per booking.

Can FairyFrog Faceart supply more than one artist?

Yes. For larger events that need several face painters or balloon twisters, Chere can arrange other local artists from her network, usually with about a week's notice.

How far ahead should I book FairyFrog Faceart?

Weekend dates are popular, so it is worth getting in touch four to six weeks before the party. Include the suburb and an approximate number of guests with the enquiry.
