The Clown Company is a Sydney entertainment business run by June Holmes, who has more than 30 years of performing experience and holds a Bachelor of Performance. The company has been operating for 20 years, works across all of Sydney, and in 2025 June won Most Outstanding Sole Operator at the Cumberland Local Business Awards. Her team of trained entertainers turns up as clowns, princesses, fairies, superheroes, pirates or elves and handles face painting, balloon twisting, magic shows and party games for birthdays, christenings, community events, shopping centres and corporate family days. There are four birthday packages. Faces for Fun costs $250 for an hour with one or two activities; Chockablock is $300 for 90 minutes with two or three; Oodles of Fun is $350 for two hours with two to four; and Massive Magic is $400 for two hours built around a full 30-minute magic show followed by balloon twisting. Activities to choose from include a 10-minute magic show, face painting, balloon twisting and games or dancing. For corporate and community events, face painting runs $400 for two hours, roaming balloon twisting $600 for two hours, and a standalone 30-minute magic show for 15 to 100 children is $300. The company also runs balloon and face painting workshops for teams. Your entertainer arrives 15 minutes early to set up the paint table, balloons and magic props, and brings a small speaker for dancing games. A table and chairs help with face painting and balloons, and outdoor bookings need an indoor backup in case of bad weather. Each face takes two to five minutes, so for 25 children the team suggests more time or a second entertainer. Paints are hypoallergenic TAG Body Art, balloons are biodegradable Sempertex, and every entertainer holds a Working With Children Check.

Can all the kids be face painted in an hour?
Not with a big group. Each design takes two to five minutes, so for around 25 children the team recommends booking more time or a second entertainer.
Can one entertainer do face painting, balloons and magic?
Yes. Most of their entertainers do all three, and packages run from one hour to two hours or more with either a 10-minute mini magic show or a 30-minute show followed by balloons, face painting or games.
What do I need to provide on the day?
Just the space and the children. A table and chairs help with face painting and balloon twisting, and the entertainer arrives 15 minutes early to set up. Outdoor parties need an indoor backup in case of bad weather.
Can the entertainer match my party theme?
Usually. Costumes include Spider-Man, Batman, princesses, fairies, clowns, a safari explorer, pirates and witches, and if your theme needs something they don't have there may be a small fee to source it.
