About Basilico Pizza
Basilico Pizza is a mobile pizza caterer run by Salvatore and Teresa, a couple who cook in the Neapolitan tradition and moved to Sydney after working in restaurant kitchens. They tow wood-fired ovens to birthday parties, corporate functions, school events, markets and weddings, and cook the pizzas on the spot, so guests eat them straight from the fire. Menus are sold per head. Each package opens with a garlic and cheese pizza, moves through a run of red and white based pizzas, and finishes with a Nutella and strawberry dessert pizza. The Traditional menu covers classics such as margherita, diavola, capricciosa and sausage with potato; the Customised package lets you choose six pizzas yourself; and the Gourmet list adds toppings like San Daniele prosciutto and prawns. The Big Party package suits crowds of more than 100. Bundles that add arancini, cannoli, a grazing board or pasta are available too, along with extras such as salads, filled milk buns and trays of lasagne. The team needs a flat area of roughly 4 by 6 metres with easy access, indoors or out, and usually serves for two to three hours. Staff, equipment, serving plates and napkins are included, and the host provides the venue and seating. Bookings start at 30 guests, and a date four to six weeks ahead is recommended.

How much does Basilico Pizza cost?
Packages are priced per head: Big Party at $25 for groups over 100, Traditional at $27, Customised at $30 and Gourmet at $32. A minimum spend of $1,000 applies, rising to $1,300 on Fridays, weekends and public holidays.
How many guests do you need to book?
The minimum is 30 guests. On a busy day the team can turn out more than 200 pizzas in a single service, so large parties are within reach.
How much space does the pizza truck need?
Allow an area of about 4 by 6 metres with easy access for the truck and ovens. The set-up works indoors or outdoors, and an extra set-up charge can apply where access is tricky.
Can Basilico cater for dietary needs?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal pizzas can be made, and allergies are managed carefully as long as you tell the team in advance.
