About Sydney Luxury Cruise

Sydney Luxury Cruise started in 2017 and is run by its two owners and managing directors, Glenn Tanoko and Peter Townsend. It describes itself as a boutique operator, and its vessel page lists 17 boats for private hire. The line-up runs from the small luxury cruisers MV Bel and MV Aquamajestic, which take four to six people, through motor yachts such as Salute, Felix, Sunseeker and State of the Art, to Karisma II, which hosts 50 to 150 guests. Instead of an hourly rate, each boat is priced as a package for a set time. Short experiences on MV Bel start at $600 for an hour at night, and 90-minute trips on MV Bel or MV Aquamajestic are $780. For groups, Salute (up to 12) is from $1,450 for three hours, Liberty (36) from $2,550, Felix (25) from $3,010, and Karisma II from $5,450 for three hours. The team also runs set experiences for proposals, sunsets, Vivid, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and Mother's and Father's Day, and sells gift cards. Every booking is private, led by a qualified skipper, and guests are met with complimentary sparkling wine. Most cruises leave from Circular Quay, Campbells Cove or Darling Harbour's Convention jetty, and you can plan the route with the skipper within the harbour. For work events the company can add branded flags, banners and screens and arrange catering through partner caterers, and it suggests booking two to three months ahead for summer and Christmas. It suits couples, small celebrations and corporate hosts who want a polished private cruise.

Charters are sold as time-based packages per boat, working out from about $520 an hour. A one-hour night cruise on MV Bel (up to 6) is $600, 90 minutes on MV Bel or MV Aquamajestic is $780 and a two-hour sunset cruise is $950. Group boats include Salute (up to 12) from $1,450 for three hours, Zodiac (15) from $1,450 for two hours, Liberty (36) from $2,550 for three hours, Felix (25) from $3,010 for three hours and Karisma II (50 to 150) from $5,450 for three hours. Pricing for larger events depends on the date, guest numbers and inclusions, so enquire for a quote.

How We Work

Send an enquiry with your preferred date and time, guest numbers, total budget and the occasion, and the team aims to reply within two hours; phones are answered seven days a week from 9am to 6pm. Rather than asking you to browse boats, they recommend a vessel to suit the event, group and budget. Before departure they get to know the group so the cruise can be tailored, whether that means a set route, catering from partner caterers or branding for a work event. On the day guests arrive at the wharf at least 15 minutes early to board with their skipper.

How many guests can the boats take?

What happens if it rains?

If you are booked on a vessel exposed to the weather and it rains, the cruise can be moved to another time free of charge, and the same applies in severe weather. The boats used for corporate events have indoor lounges and covered decks.

Can we cancel or reschedule a booking?

Booked experiences and gift cards cannot be cancelled, but rescheduling is flexible. Moving a date with more than 14 days' notice is free, less than 14 days costs a $100 admin fee, and changes inside 48 hours forfeit half the booking fee. Charters over $2,000 have their own terms.

Can we customise a corporate cruise?

Yes. Work charters can carry your branding on flags, banners, signs and screens, and menus, decor and entertainment can be matched to the brand. Catering comes from partner caterers, from canapes to formal dining, with beverage packages and bar service.
