About Boat Party Hire
Boat Party Hire is a Sydney family business run by husband and wife Tristan and Bec Manning, who have spent more than 15 years in the harbour charter and entertainment trade. They own boats themselves and also book a wide range of partner vessels, so the job is matching each group to the right boat and then organising what happens on board. Bec is the first point of contact and stays with the booking through to the day. Past clients range from Brooks Running and Deloitte to tradie crews, church groups and families. The boats on their books run from small catamarans and yachts through to large function boats. What's Kraken and Cabaret take 20 guests from $350 an hour, Zulu takes 29 from $400, Platinum takes 22 from $495, and Bayrunner fits 180 from $550 an hour. Bigger groups can step up to Aussie Magic for 200 or Bella Vista for 950, and superyachts such as Oscar II and Masteka II run from $2,200 to $3,250 an hour. Most birthday, hens and bucks cruises run three to four hours. Beyond the boat, they arrange catering from grazing tables to private chefs and bar packages, or you can bring your own on most vessels for groups of 40 or fewer. Entertainment is a big part of the offer: DJs from $600, drag queen hosts from $350, laser clay shooting from $1,200, magicians, poker tables, karaoke, decorations, water toys and party bus or limo transfers. It suits groups who want one person to sort the boat and the extras together.

What is the cheapest boat for a party?
The published rates start at $350 an hour for What's Kraken and Cabaret, which each take up to 20 guests. Zulu takes 29 guests from $400 an hour, and for large groups Bayrunner fits 180 from $550 an hour. Wharf fees, surcharges and any catering or entertainment are extra.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes, on most vessels, but BYO is only suitable for groups of 40 people or fewer. For bigger groups, or if you would rather not organise it yourself, they can arrange catering, bar packages or a private chef, and menus can be adjusted for dietary requirements.
What entertainment can they organise?
DJs start from $600 and drag queen hosts from $350. They can also book laser clay shooting from $1,200, a jet boat ride mid-cruise, magicians, poker tables with croupiers, karaoke, live music, photographers and party decorations. Adult entertainment is available for hens and bucks groups.
How does payment work?
Once you have chosen the boat, date, time and inclusions, a 50% deposit is due within 48 hours to secure the booking. The balance is due two weeks before the cruise, and a security bond is paid a week before and refunded seven days after if there is no damage or extra cleaning. Deposits are non-refundable.
How far ahead should we book a Christmas party?
December dates fill quickly, so they suggest booking three to six months ahead, though they can often find a boat at shorter notice. Summer weekends and New Year's Eve also book out early, while smaller groups can sometimes be accommodated at short notice.
