About Krusin Kombis
Krusin Kombis is a family business from Charlestown that has spent more than ten years chauffeuring restored Volkswagen Kombis to weddings and events. Newcastle and Lake Macquarie bookings carry no travel charge at all, and the family knows the Lake Macquarie waterfront well, naming Wangi Wangi, Belmont 16s, Murrays Beach and Trinity Point among the venues it enjoys. There are two Kombis, and they suit different jobs. The super-stretch has been lengthened to carry ten passengers, so the whole wedding party can travel and arrive together. The other is an original sixties split-screen in mouse grey with seats for seven, often chosen by couples who want a timeless car in their photos. Booking both is common: one for the attendants, one for the couple. Each booking lasts 3.5 hours, and a uniformed member of the family drives. Ribbons and styling are matched to your colours, an ice bucket is stocked inside, and you can stop wherever the plan needs, from getting ready to the ceremony, a photo spot at the beach or lake, and the reception. Weddings are the bulk of the work, but the Kombis are also booked for school formals, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, corporate and brand events, and photo shoots. Each Kombi has a set price, and the online date checker gives an indicative figure once you add your date, addresses and choice of van. Venues outside Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, such as Hunter Valley vineyards, add the return drive from Newcastle. A deposit confirms the booking.

Is there a travel fee for a Newcastle or Lake Macquarie wedding?
No. Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are both travel-free. Travel is only added for venues further out, at $160 an hour for the return drive from Newcastle.
How much does a Kombi cost to hire locally?
Expect $1,400 for the seven-seater split-screen or $1,850 for the ten-seater stretch, covering 3.5 hours with the chauffeur, styling and ice bucket included.
Which Lake Macquarie venues do they know?

What deposit is needed to lock in our date?
Once the date is confirmed as free, paying a quarter of the Kombi's price as a deposit (never less than $200) secures it, and the remainder is invoiced ahead of the day.
