About Hunter Supercruise
Hunter Supercruise is a Newcastle performance car business based at the Carrington Pump House. Its cars are hired for weddings and school formals with a driver, and the Lamborghini also runs short passenger joyrides for people who simply want to feel what a supercar can do. There are two cars to choose from. The first is a 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera in yellow, with a black race interior, paddle-shift gearbox and a V10 engine. The second is a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS painted show-car red with white bumblebee stripes, still left-hand drive, with a houndstooth interior and a 502 cubic inch big-block V8. The Camaro is kept for weddings, formals and general hire only. For a wedding the cars are usually booked to bring the bride or the couple to the ceremony, wait for photos and then carry them on to the reception. Both are low, loud and photogenic, which is much of the appeal. Because they are sports cars rather than limousines, they suit the couple or a pair of passengers rather than a whole bridal party, so many couples pair one with separate transport for the rest of the group. Bookings are made by the hour. A travel fee may be added for Lake Macquarie and longer runs out to Port Stephens, the vineyards or the Upper Hunter, worked out when you book. The joyride is a 20-minute passenger loop past Bar Beach and Merewether that makes a popular birthday gift, and gift vouchers are available.
