About Miss Mays Events
Miss Mays Events is run by Newcastle stylist Alice May and a small team who dress tables, build grazing spreads and set up picnics for weddings and celebrations around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Every piece of a tablescape, from cloths and napkins to candles, glassware and centrepiece florals, comes out of the business's own collection, and the team handles the details on the day so guests sit down to finished tables. The styling process has three stages. Once you enquire, Alice sends a look-book of favourite looks. You reply with your own ideas, such as a Pinterest board or a set of photos, and she pulls together mock-ups from the stock, checking in with you as the design takes shape. A quote follows once the date, venue and style are known. Grazing tables are made for weddings, birthdays and work events of 50 to 300 people, using cheese, cured meats and produce sourced from local suppliers, with set-up and clean-up done by the team. Smaller groups can book a styled luxury picnic, which suits a hens gathering, bridal or baby shower or birthday, for $55 per person including GST. Picnics come with tables, rugs, cushions, dried or silk florals and settings, and delivery within Newcastle or pick-up is available. If you would rather style the day yourself, the same range is available to hire, from silk backdrops and wishing wells to candles, plates, cutlery and satin sashes for the chairs.

What are the steps for styling a Newcastle wedding?
After you enquire, Alice sends a look-book, you share your own inspiration, and she builds mock-ups from the business's stock, involving you until the look is settled.
What is included in a luxury picnic?
For $55 per person including GST ($50 plus GST) you get picnic tables, rugs and cushions, silk or dried flowers and place settings, and the team sets up, packs down and does the washing up. Delivery within Newcastle or pick-up is available.
How many guests can a grazing table feed?
Anywhere from 50 to 300 people. Spreads use produce bought from local suppliers. Set-up is handled before guests arrive, and the team clears everything away afterwards.
Can we hire styling pieces and set them up ourselves?
Yes, once you have enquired. The hire range runs from wishing wells and silk backdrops to tablecloths, gold cutlery, plates, glasses, candles and satin sashes.
Can I get my deposit back if plans change?
No. Under the terms, payments and payment plan instalments are non-refundable because your date is reserved, and broken, stained or missing items are charged.
