About Magikal Moments

Magikal Moments is an event hire and styling business run from a showroom in Boolaroo. Karren is the stylist, and her husband Phil builds many of the décor pieces in the collection. It started with styling family functions and grew into a hire range of vintage furniture, arbours, bell tents, tableware, lanterns and props for weddings, proposals, hens days, baby showers and corporate events. There are two ways to work with them. Dry hire suits people who want to style the day themselves: pick pieces from the hire range, then collect them from the showroom or have them delivered and collected for a fee. For a done-for-you event, the team holds a creative session with you, builds a mood board and then sets up and styles the space. Packages cover a proposal set-up with a low pallet table, rugs, lanterns and a floral arrangement; a Girls Day Out for hens days and catch-ups, with up to 12 place settings and a peacock chair; wedding ceremony and reception packages; a drinks station and bar; and a honeymoon glamping bell tent. Several include a chopping board or sign engraved on the team's own laser cutter. Delivery, set-up, pack-down and collection are part of every package within 50km of Boolaroo, which takes in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Flowers and food can be arranged as extras on a quote. Send an enquiry with your date, venue and wish list for a detailed quote.

Frequently asked questions

What comes with the Girls Day Out package?

A peacock chair for the guest of honour, an engraved welcome sign and keepsake board, a low pallet table, up to 12 place settings, grazing platters, Champagne buckets, rugs, cushions, a Bluetooth speaker and a floral piece or cake topper.

What is in the wedding ceremony package?

A peacock chair and signing table, a choice of vintage ladders, a timber arbour or a macramé arch, 32 white folding chairs or 8 timber benches, rugs, lanterns, a welcome sign and a Bluetooth speaker for the music.

How is a booking secured?

A 30 per cent non-refundable deposit holds your items for the date, and the balance falls due 30 days before the event. Bookings made less than 30 days out are paid in full upfront.

Is there a bond?

Yes. Every booking carries a bond of at least $100, set by what is hired, who handles it and where the venue is. It comes back to you once everything is returned in good condition.

Can I collect hire items instead of having them delivered?

Yes. Dry hire pieces can be picked up from the Boolaroo showroom with no delivery fee and returned within four days unless agreed otherwise. Collection from your venue is available for an extra fee.
