About Hamilton Alley
Hamilton Alley is a five-piece funk, soul and blues band from Newcastle. Elizabeth Robinson leads on vocals, with Kieran Glasgow on vocals, slide guitar and harmonica, Dave Bonsor on guitar, Liam Ferguson on bass and Jamie Gilmore on drums, and every member sings, which gives the band four-part harmonies and a bigger sound than its line-up suggests. Between them the players have performed around Australia and overseas for decades. The band's calling card is the funk cover: familiar songs from across the decades rebuilt with a funk groove, so the crowd gets the kick of recognising a tune in a new shape. Those sit alongside soul classics and dance-floor fillers, and the set list is put together for each audience. A function can start with gentle background music over dinner and build to a full party set once the plates are cleared. The band brings a professional PA and a lighting show, so a hall, club room or marquee does not need its own production. Several members also have event planning and management experience, and the band is open to ideas for adding something particular to the night, such as a special song or a themed segment. Enquiries go through the booking form on its website with the date, venue and type of event, and the band replies with rates and availability.

Hamilton Alley played at our wedding and were absolutely sensational! They were very easy and friendly to communicate with from the very start and made me feel at ease that they would be prepared and smash it on the day.…
