About Sheldon Reception
Sheldon Reception is a wedding and events venue on Somerville Road in Sunshine West, with more than 30 years of experience and interiors designed by Shaynna Blaze. It has on-site parking and runs weddings, school formals, christenings, birthdays and corporate events, with a dedicated event manager for each booking. The Bliss Ballroom is the large room, taking 220 to 600 guests around a polished dance floor with tiered perimeter seating, so every table has a view. The bridal party can arrive through the floor in an enclosed glass lift or down a sweeping staircase, and the bridal table sits in front of a cascading water wall. The Delphinium Room suits 70 to 240, with chandeliers, a long mirrored wall, an elevated bridal table, its own staircase, a fully serviced bar and air conditioning; it is also used for dinner dances and corporate luncheons. Sheldon Gardens is a light-filled ceremony and reception space for up to 200, used for christenings and birthday celebrations as well as weddings. The in-house kitchen handles canapés, buffets and three-course sit-down menus. Full wedding packages include pre-dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres, table platters, three courses, supper platters, linen, centrepieces, a styled bridal table and on-the-day management. Venue-hire packages let couples bring their own caterers and stylists. Events include five and a half hours, and music finishes by midnight.
