About Hijinx Hotel QV Melbourne
Hijinx Hotel QV Melbourne fills part of level three at QV, on the corner of Lonsdale and Swanston Streets, with a mock 1920s New York hotel: a concierge desk, long corridors and ten doors that each open onto a different challenge room. Behind them you will find flashing lights, sound-cue puzzles, heist-themed tasks and ball pits. A visit is played in sets of five rooms. Your team gets a briefing at each one, has a set time to rack up as many points as possible, and then moves on, with scores tallied on a leaderboard. Rooms take two to six players, and a single booking can cover up to 30 people, so larger groups are spread across several teams playing side by side. One set of challenge rooms runs about 30 minutes all up, and most groups pair it with time in the bar, which serves house cocktails, drinks and finger food in booths and open seating. Food and drinks stay in the bar area rather than the rooms. Wear clothes you can move in, as some rooms have you dashing about to score. For birthdays, hens and bucks nights, work parties and Christmas functions, Hijinx party packages start at $52 a person for a set of challenge rooms with a reserved area, and step up to packages with finger food and one- or two-hour beverage packages covering beer, wine, cider and soft drinks. Extras such as another set of rooms, platters and party bags can be added, and minimum group sizes apply. Children from five can play with an adult until 8pm, after which the venue is 18 and over and ID is checked. Please arrive 30 minutes early, as late arrivals can't be squeezed in.
