About Hijinx Hotel Chadstone
Hijinx Hotel Chadstone takes up a corner of the Social Quarter on Level 1 of the shopping centre, styled as a slightly surreal New York hotel with a concierge desk and long corridors. Ten doors lead off those halls, and each opens onto a different challenge room. You might be stacking giant letter cubes into words, keeping a leaking ship afloat, shooting hoops under blacklight or diving into a candy-coloured ball pit. Rooms are played in sets of five or ten. Each one takes two to six players, gives you a quick brief and a tight time limit, and adds your score to a leaderboard that resets every day. A set of five runs about 30 minutes, and clothes you can move in help, since some challenges keep you on your feet. Bigger groups are split into several teams that play side by side, with up to 30 people on one online booking. For hens and bucks nights, birthdays, work parties and Christmas functions there are packages for ten or more guests, starting with a set of rooms and a reserved area and stepping up to finger food, one- or two-hour drinks packages and a host. Children aged five and over can play, and the kids' party package covers a set of rooms, a party area for food, shared pizza or nuggets and soft drinks. Food and drinks stay in the bar, which serves house cocktails, beer and wine with pizzas, tacos, burgers and sides. Holey Moley, Strike Bowling and Archie Brothers are next door if the group wants to keep the night going.

What do the party packages include?
The entry package is $52 a person for a set of challenge rooms and a reserved area for food. The $80 option adds finger food and a one-hour drinks package, and the $108 option runs two and a half hours with five finger food choices and two hours of drinks. Functions need at least ten guests.
How many people can play together?
Each room fits two to six players, and up to 30 people can go on one online booking, split into teams that play at the same time. Keep everyone on a single booking, as separate bookings can't be grouped together.
Can children come to a party here?
Yes, Hijinx Hotel suits players aged five and up. The kids' party package is $35 a child for groups of ten or more and covers a set of rooms, a party area for 40 minutes, shared pizza or nuggets, soft drinks and decorations.
When should we arrive and what should we wear?
Aim to arrive 30 minutes before your booking for the briefing, because late arrivals can't be fitted in. Wear something comfortable to move in, as several rooms reward quick feet more than fancy outfits.
