About Ace Karts
Ace Karts is an outdoor go-kart track at 20 Carrington Dr in Albion, in Melbourne's west, running since 1994. The circuit stretches 700 metres and is eight metres wide, with a 105-metre straight, a reversible layout and floodlights for night racing, and it stays open rain, hail or shine. The fleet runs on Sodi chassis with Honda engines: Super Karts hit 75km/h for drivers 12 and up, speed-limited Rookie Karts suit drivers aged six to 11, and twin-seat karts let an adult drive with a passenger from age four. Groups can join the drop-in Arrive and Drive sessions, where up to 10 people race one to three timed sessions on a shared track, or book an Exclusive Race with the whole grid to themselves. Private events need at least 15 drivers and scale to 100 or more, with custom formats such as heats, finals, relays or endurance races. Add a podium ceremony with medals, trophies and photos, a birthday cake station or a presentation area for corporate days. Every booking includes kart and helmet hire, a safety briefing, marshals, lap timing and results. Catering comes from the trackside kitchen as smoked BBQ packages for 20 or more, from brisket and chicken wings with sides to a feast with beef short ribs, and the kiosk sells snacks and drinks. Groups may also bring their own BBQ food. There is plenty of free parking for cars and coaches. The track opens from 9am every day, closing at 9pm early in the week and 11pm Thursday to Saturday. Ace Karts is cashless, and drivers under 18 need an adult present to sign their waiver.

How much does go-karting at Ace Karts cost?
Arrive and Drive starts at $49 per person for one race on weekdays ($55 on weekends), $89 for two races and $129 for three. Exclusive private races start from $99 per person depending on group size.
What is the minimum group size for a private race?
Exclusive races need at least 15 drivers and can grow to 100 or more guests. Smaller groups of up to 10 can book the shared Arrive and Drive sessions online instead.
Can kids race at Ace Karts?
Yes. Drivers aged six to 11 who are at least 120cm tall can use the Rookie Karts, Super Karts need drivers 12 and over and 140cm tall, and children from four ride as passengers in the 2-seater karts.
Is catering available for group events?
Yes. Smoked BBQ packages for 20 or more run from $55 to $75 per head, including brisket, chicken wings, lamb or short ribs with sides. Group bookings can also BYO BBQ, and the kiosk sells snacks.
Do races go ahead in the rain?
Yes. The outdoor track runs rain, hail or shine, and wet weather simply adds a different driving challenge. The circuit is also floodlit for evening races.
