About Rosy Red Face Painting
Murrumbeena artist Rosina Lazzaro runs Rosy Red Face Painting. She came to face painting after more than 20 years as a graphic designer. She set up the business in 2010 and paints at children's birthday parties and christenings as well as council festivals, store promotions and company family days. Her work ranges from glittery fairies and butterflies to monsters, skulls and Day of the Dead faces, along with arm and shoulder designs for anyone who would rather not have a full face. She also offers UV glow painting, using paints that light up under black light, which suits an evening party or a teen celebration. Pregnancy belly art and full body art are available for special occasions. Everything Rosina puts on skin is cosmetic grade, including the glitter. She uses one sponge per child, keeps sanitiser in her water, changes it often and disinfects her brushes after every job, and she skips any skin that is broken or irritated. At a party she paints 12 to 15 detailed designs an hour; at busy events she switches to smaller designs and gets through about 20. For big events Rosina has a network of professional artists she works with and can also source balloonists and other roving performers. Every artist holds public liability insurance and a Working with Children Check. Rates depend on location, time of day and length of booking, with a two-hour minimum in most cases and a travel fee for parties more than about 20km from Murrumbeena.

What paints does Rosina use?
Only cosmetic-grade, water-based face paints and glitter made for skin – never acrylic or craft glitter. Paint comes off with water, a little soap and a face washer.
Is there a minimum booking with Rosy Red?
In most cases there is a two-hour minimum. Rates depend on your location, the time of day and the length of the booking, so send your event details for a quote.
Can Rosy Red supply more than one face painter?
Yes. Rosina has a network of professional artists and can organise extra painters, as well as balloonists or other roving entertainers, for larger events.
What is UV glow face painting?
It uses fluoro paints that glow under black light, so designs light up in a darkened room – a popular choice for evening parties and teen celebrations.
