About Fancy Faces

Fancy Faces is the face painting business of Hayley, a Pakenham-based artist who works across Melbourne's south-east and eastern suburbs. She comes to your home, hall or park for a child's birthday party, painting each guest's chosen design while the celebration carries on around her. Hayley spent many years painting and teaching decorative and fine art before turning to faces. After a school fete got her started, she trained further at face and body art workshops and conventions, so her designs go well beyond simple cheek pictures. She works with theatre make-up alongside non-toxic professional face paints. In an hour she can paint about 10 to 15 detailed faces, or around 20 quicker designs when there is a long queue, and more painters can join her for bigger groups. Face painting is not the only thing on offer. Glitter tattoos can sit alongside the face paints or be booked on their own, and they are waterproof for up to a week. Hayley also twists balloons, which keeps children busy once their faces are done. Fancy Faces holds an ABN, public liability cover of up to $20 million and a Working With Children Check. Fancy Faces does not publish prices; each booking is quoted on the party date, suburb, number of children and time needed. A $50 minimum deposit secures the date, and a travel fee and tolls may apply depending on where the party is held.

Performance Details

Hayley sets up a face painting station at your home, hall or park and paints guests one at a time, about 10 to 15 detailed faces or roughly 20 quick designs an hour. Glitter tattoos and balloon twisting can be added, and extra painters can be booked for large groups. Payment is accepted by cash, direct deposit or EFTPOS.
