About Melbourne Cityside Celebrant
Melbourne Cityside Celebrant is Benn Stone, a full-time marriage celebrant with more than a decade in weddings and over 3,000 ceremonies conducted. His style mixes warmth with well-timed jokes, and he writes every script from scratch after getting to know the couple, so the ceremony sounds like the two of you rather than a template. The process starts with a meeting in person or by video call to talk through ideas. Benn then drafts the ceremony, helps you shape your vows, and takes care of the legal side – the Notice of Intended Marriage, the paperwork on the day and online registration of the marriage. He works with traditional, modern and same-sex couples, and ceremonies can be anything from a ten-minute elopement to a fully personalised half hour. On the day he brings a rechargeable PA and a pair of wireless mics, plays your chosen songs over Bluetooth, and a videographer can take an audio feed straight from it. Many couples keep him on after the ceremony: he can MC the reception – introductions, speeches, the toast, cake cutting and first dance – and run his DJ setup with Bose speakers, a subwoofer and lighting. Extras include a magic mirror photobooth, audio and video guestbooks, GoPro filming and lawn games. Send through your date and venue to check availability; a 50% deposit paid within seven days of your first meeting confirms the booking.

Can Benn Stone be our DJ and MC as well as our celebrant?
Yes. He offers MC and DJ services as add-ons to any ceremony booking, covering introductions, speeches, the toast, cake cutting and first dance, with his own Bose sound system and lighting.
What legal paperwork does the celebrant handle?
Every ceremony package covers the legal requirements: lodging the Notice of Intended Marriage, the paperwork signed on the day, online registration of the marriage and information on changing your name.
Is there an option for a simple legal wedding without a ceremony?
Yes. The paperwork-only wedding takes place at Benn's Melbourne CBD office with up to five guests and covers all the legal steps for $550 plus GST.
Does he bring sound equipment to outdoor ceremonies?
He brings a rechargeable PA good for up to 20 hours of use plus a pair of wireless mics, you can stream songs to it by Bluetooth, and a videographer can plug into it for clean audio of your vows.
How do we secure our wedding date?
Get in touch with your date and venue, meet Benn in person or by video call, and a 50% deposit paid within seven days of that meeting confirms the booking.
