About Celebrant Ruby
Celebrant Ruby is a Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant and event MC based in Avondale Heights. She works as a celebrant full time, so couples can talk to her during the day or in the evening, by phone, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Teams or in person. Her style mixes tradition and romance with plenty of laughs, and she gets to know each couple well enough to tell their story from the day they met to the proposal. There are three packages. Legals Only suits couples who simply want to be married: the two of you, Ruby and two witnesses at a place you choose, whether that is home, a cafe, a bar or a park, with the legal vows, ring exchange and all paperwork. The Grand Affair is the full ceremony, with her PA system and microphone, personal and legal vows, rituals or readings, the wedding party and full management of the ceremony. The Grand Affair & MC adds Ruby as master of ceremonies at your reception. She prepares the run sheet ahead of time, handles announcements, games, the cake cutting and first dance, and liaises with the venue, photographers and musicians so the couple can relax with their guests. Every package starts with a free virtual chat, and Ruby lodges the Notice of Intended Marriage and registers the marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages afterwards. The full packages cover venues up to 50 km from Essendon, with a small travel fee beyond that. Send an enquiry to check whether Ruby is free on your date.

What is included in Celebrant Ruby's Legals Only package?
For $500 you get the legal vows, a ring exchange and preparation and lodgement of all paperwork. It is just the couple, Ruby and two witnesses at a spot you choose, such as home, a cafe or a park.
Can Ruby be our MC as well as our celebrant?
Yes. The Grand Affair & MC package at $2100 has Ruby run your ceremony and then host the reception, covering the run sheet, announcements, games, cake cutting, first dance and liaising with your other suppliers.
Does Ruby bring a sound system to the ceremony?
Both Grand Affair packages include music, a microphone and speakers, so guests can hear the vows clearly. The Legals Only package is kept simple and comes without equipment.
Is there a travel fee?
The Grand Affair packages cover a venue of your choice up to 50 km from Essendon. Beyond that distance a small travel fee may apply, so mention your venue when you enquire.
How much notice do we need to give before the wedding?
The Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged at least one month before the wedding. Ruby prepares and lodges it for you, and a shortening of time can be requested in some circumstances.
