About Leighsa Cox Photographer
Leighsa Cox is a Maitland local who runs a small photography studio on Lawes Street in East Maitland, sharing the space with a skin clinic. Weddings and family portraits are her two specialties, and she also photographs couples, engagements, babies, pets and business headshots. Most of her bookings come from around the Hunter Valley, and she is happy to travel further when a job calls for it. Her wedding work is relaxed and unposed. Stories on her blog include a bright midweek celebration at Kirkton Park, a Wandin Estate wedding that rolled through rain and sunshine with a big, playful family, a farm wedding on a couple's own land near Morpeth, a home wedding in East Maitland with seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen, and a short beach elopement with close family. She also photographs surprise proposals, including one planned in secret under a fig tree in Morpeth, and engagement sessions for couples who want portraits before the wedding. Clients are encouraged to bring their own ideas or inspiration photos, and she is LGBTQ+ friendly and welcomes families of every shape and size. After a shoot, images are backed up and edited in her natural style, then viewed together at the studio, where Leighsa helps design albums, canvas and framed wall collections, timber blocks and portrait books. Printing and framing go through professional Australian suppliers using archival materials, and finished pieces are usually ready to collect three to four weeks after ordering. Payment can be made by card, cash, bank transfer or Afterpay, and payment plans can be arranged.

How long do printed albums and wall art take?
Usually three to four weeks once the order is finalised. The finished pieces are then collected from the East Maitland studio.
