Amy Webster has been a marriage celebrant since 2014 and also works as a wedding MC, so couples can book one person to take them from the ceremony to the last song. She is based in East Maitland and works across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. Her approach is relaxed and personal: she sets the tone, gathers guests and settles nerves rather than putting on a show. Her MC package can be added to any ceremony booking. It covers the handover from the ceremony to family photos, cocktail hour, the reception, speeches and finally the opening of the dance floor, so the night keeps moving without the couple watching the clock. Couples who have booked her for both roles describe her turning the notes they shared into stories that had guests laughing, while keeping the formalities organised. Amy brings a cordless, battery-powered Bose S1 Pro with a microphone and Bluetooth, and she runs the pre-ceremony and aisle music from her own device, so nobody has to be put in charge of pressing play. Bookings begin with an enquiry and a quote for the date, time and venue, followed by a booking fee. About three months out, she meets the couple to plan the ceremony and lodge the legal paperwork. She also conducts funerals.
