About Julie Muir Celebrant
Julie Muir is an Irish-born marriage celebrant with more than 400 couples married, much of her work at wineries and country estates around the Hunter Valley. Couples have married with her at Circa 1876 in Pokolbin, The Wine House and Adams Peak Country Estate in Broke, and the towns she covers run from Pokolbin, Mount View and Lovedale to Broke, Singleton, Branxton, Wollombi, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Maitland and Morpeth. Her ceremonies are built on storytelling. Through questionnaires and conversation she gathers how you met, what you love and what annoys you about each other, then writes a ceremony full of humour and feeling, delivered in a soft Irish accent. Before celebrancy she worked in sports event management, which shows in how organised she is on the day. She speaks Irish, Spanish, French and some Italian, so bi-lingual ceremonies are a specialty, and she has learnt some AUSLAN for deaf guests. Full wedding ceremonies include a Bose S1 Pro PA so everyone can hear, ordering of your marriage certificate, an outfit chosen to suit your colours, and a habit of staying out of the important photos. She also helps nervous couples write their vows. For couples who want something simpler, legals-only registry-style weddings with two witnesses can be held almost anywhere, and vow renewals are written around the story of a long marriage. Julie also works as a wedding MC, keeping guests entertained and the evening running to time. She plants a native tree through Carbon Positive Australia for every booking and offers locally sourced eco-confetti.
