About Dragonfly Productions
Dragonfly Productions is a video business run by Laura Vagheggi from Warilla, beside Lake Illawarra. Laura grew up in Tuscany, moved to Australia in 2014 and studied filmmaking and business at the same time before starting Dragonfly. Her background in writing and music shows in how she builds a film around story and sound. Weddings are the heart of the business, and Laura has been filming them since 2018. Her approach is to record the day as it unfolds rather than stage it, on the view that the moments couples treasure later are often the ones they did not notice at the time. She keeps things light and friendly so nobody feels self-conscious in front of the camera, and couples often mention how calm and organised she is in the lead-up, walking them through what to expect. The finished film is meant to carry the details and personalities that make a wedding feel like yours, something to watch again for years and share with family. Laura also takes on corporate work, marketing videos, festivals, music clips, documentaries and other live events, so she can cover a work function or launch as well as a wedding.
