About Gavin Cato Photography
Gavin Cato is a full-time wedding photographer who lives near Shellharbour and spends much of the year at weddings along the South Coast, at venues such as The Lodge Jamberoo, Jaspers in Berry and The Berry Homestead. A former computer engineer, he edits every image himself with his own presets, which gives his work a bright, colourful finish rather than a dark, moody one. He works alone and keeps a low profile. His cameras are silent, he asks about the dress code so he can blend in, and he moves quickly through portraits so the couple can get back to their guests. A three-camera setup lets him cover the ground and the air at the same time: two drones travel with him, and aerial shots are included in his photography packages, with indoor drone photos possible where the setting allows. Turnaround is quick. A preview gallery is ready the day after the wedding, and the full set of high-resolution edited images is delivered on an online gallery and a USB within about ten days, often sooner. In the most popular package the USB arrives in a presentation box with a stack of prints. Albums can be ordered as well. For couples who want sound as well as stills, Gavin offers a pared-back video of the ceremony and the speeches, recorded with dedicated audio equipment; it is designed to sit alongside the photos rather than replace full-day videography. Engagement sessions in golden-hour light are also available, and small midweek weddings and elopements can be tailored. Pricing comes in a package guide sent on enquiry.

Is drone photography extra?
No. Drone shots are included in the photography packages. The drone is usually up for only a couple of minutes to capture a few aerial frames.
How quickly will we see our photos?
You get a preview gallery the day after the wedding, and the full edited collection on an online gallery and USB within about 10 days.
Do you offer video?
Yes, a simple video covering the ceremony and speeches with professional audio. It complements the photos but is not a full-day wedding film.
Do you work with a second shooter?
No, Gavin works alone. He uses several cameras at once so he can cover different angles without a team following the couple around.
How do we secure our date?
A $1,000 booking fee secures the date and can be split into instalments. The balance is due four weeks before the wedding.
