About The Roosevelt
The Roosevelt is a cocktail bar and restaurant on the ground floor of 32 Orwell Street, Potts Point, styled after a 1950s New York bar with art deco details, dark timber and a large whisky display. The address has a long Kings Cross nightlife past, including a stint as one of Abe Saffron's nightclubs, and the current venue plays up that story. Day to day it serves modern Australian dining, bar snacks, cocktails and a deep whisky, wine and Champagne list. There are three ways to use it for an event. The Poker Room sits behind a hidden doorway and seats up to 12 for dinner or 10 around the card table. The Monroe Room is the main private space, lined with the whisky collection and fitted with its own bar and two custom-built banquet tables, taking 32 seated or 55 standing; it can also run two poker tables for up to 24 players. For bigger parties the whole venue can be booked for up to 110 guests, with layout, menus and service style set to suit. Event menus range from canape receptions to shared banquets and private dinners, and the team helps choose food and drinks packages to fit the group. Experiences can be added before or after the meal: a cocktail masterclass, a guided whisky tasting, or a poker night with cards and chips supplied and professional croupiers available to hire. The venue hosts birthdays, engagements, hens, bucks and corporate events, but does not take 18th birthday parties. A 10% service charge applies to groups of eight or more.
