About The Loft on Broadway
The Loft on Broadway occupies an 1800s terrace beside the UTS Tower at 15 Broadway, Ultimo, around ten minutes on foot from Central Station. It is run by ActivateUTS, the university's campus services group, but private bookings are open to the public as well as to student clubs. Profits go back into UTS student programs. During the week it trades as a bar with a pizza kitchen, and on weekends it opens for events only. The venue has a leafy courtyard strung with lanterns and fairy lights, an indoor bar and stage on the ground level, and a mezzanine upstairs. The full venue holds up to 300 guests and is hired exclusively from Saturday to Monday, from midday until late, since the bar trades normally Tuesday to Friday. The mezzanine is a smaller, private room for up to 50, available Tuesday to Friday from 4pm to 9pm. It is licensed until 3am, and larger events can extend into neighbouring spaces on campus. Instead of charging room hire, The Loft sets a minimum spend on food and drinks: $600 for the mezzanine, and $3,500 for the full venue from January to September, rising to $4,500 from October to December. Bookings run for at least four hours and are secured with a 30% deposit. Staff, a bar, furniture, background music and an event coordinator are included, while DJ packages, LED walls, lighting and bubble machines are quoted separately. Catering covers platters, BBQ menus and canapé packages, and drinks can be run as a package, a bar tab or a cash bar.

Can anyone book The Loft on Broadway, or only UTS students?
Anyone can. The booking form has options for UTS clubs and societies and for promoters or members of the public, and the venue hosts birthdays, engagements, farewells and corporate events.
