About Royal Albert Hotel
The Royal Albert Hotel has been pouring beers on Commonwealth Street in Surry Hills since 1927. It is a dog-friendly local with an old-English feel, a tap list that mixes craft and classic beers, and a pub menu of burgers, steaks and schnitzels. For parties it offers two bookable areas and the option of taking over the whole pub. The Ruby Lounge is the smaller room, fitted with plush couch booths and sports memorabilia on the walls, for 20 seated or 30 standing. The Beer Garden is open to the sky, with space for 35 seated or 60 standing and room to clear a dance floor. Hire the whole venue and the areas run together for up to 180 standing guests, with the pub's own staff looking after the event. Groups under 20 don't need a function booking and can reserve a table online. Function catering is built from share platters: antipasti for ten, trays of arancini, falafel, skewers or sliders, taco and nacho platters, and 40-piece wing platters. Drinks packages come in silver, gold and platinum tiers, from $45 per person for two hours up to $90 for four hours of platinum, and prepaid bar tabs or pay-as-you-go are also available. Add-ons include DJ or live music hire, balloon garlands and a photographer, and larger events earn complimentary add-ons. Outside food and drink aren't allowed apart from a celebration cake.

Food was alright for a pub they have daily specials which present great value for money. The place is looking run down but overall good for a feed!

Plenty of cheap daily specials and lunch specials. Steak was beautiful, and the atmosphere was so cute and homey. Definitely coming back!
