About Marmalade Bar @ The Rose Hotel
The Rose Hotel is a corner pub at 52-54 Cleveland Street in Chippendale, first built in 1877 and once known as The Native Rose Hotel. Its facade has changed little over the years, and the cherubs on it have been part of the building since at least 1978. Inside, the bar pours around 30 rotating craft beers alongside Australian tinnies, and the wine list favours organic and biodynamic producers. Marmalade Bar is the pub's private function space, located upstairs and separate from the public bars. It holds up to 120 guests and can be set up for a seated meal or a standing party. It is furnished with chesterfield lounges and high tables, and the venue lists TV and AV facilities, audio control and room for a dance floor, so it works for speeches, slideshows and a late dance. Catering and beverage packages are available for functions, drawing on a kitchen that makes pizzas, small bites and pub classics with weekly seasonal specials. Groups of more than 30, and any corporate bookings, are handled by the functions manager rather than the table booking system.
