About Sam McCool
Sam McCool left a marketing career for stand-up comedy and built a second trade as a master of ceremonies. Based in Sydney, he has played sell-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House, reached the finals of Australia's Got Talent, and taken his comedy and hosting to stages across North America, Asia and Europe. His MC clients run from banks and tech firms to universities and industry bodies. The core of the service is corporate hosting: conferences, gala dinners, award nights, webinars, fundraisers, launches and Christmas parties. A booking takes in event planning, several briefings, material written around your industry, speaker introductions and handovers, and the hosting itself. He can follow a word-for-word script, work from dot points or shape the program with your team, and he sets the comedy level to suit, from lively crowd work to the straight formal delivery he used across a run of UNSW graduation ceremonies. Private clients book him too, for weddings, birthdays and multicultural celebrations. Sam speaks French, Arabic, Indonesian and Spanish as well as English, which helps with mixed-language audiences. On the day he asks for a technical rehearsal, the run sheet and a mic, and he works with your AV crew on anything else. Fees are quoted per event, with travel and accommodation usually billed on top.

Frequently asked questions
What kinds of events does Sam McCool host?
Mostly corporate work such as conferences, gala dinners, award nights, webinars, fundraisers, launches and Christmas parties, plus private functions including weddings, birthdays and multicultural shows.
Can Sam McCool host without the comedy?
Yes. He adjusts the humour to the tone of the event and can deliver a fully formal hosting style, as he did for a series of UNSW graduation ceremonies.
Which languages does Sam McCool speak?
Sam speaks French, Arabic, Indonesian and Spanish as well as English, which is useful for multicultural weddings, international delegations and mixed-language audiences.
What does Sam need from us on the day?
A technical run-through before the event, the run sheet and a microphone. He can work with your venue's AV team and their equipment rather than bringing his own sound.
Does Sam McCool travel outside Sydney?
Yes, he regularly hosts interstate and overseas, and also MCs virtual and hybrid events. Travel and accommodation are usually quoted separately, though they can be folded into the overall package.
