The Sydney Catering Co is a boutique caterer based at Warriewood on the Northern Beaches, co-founded by executive chef Rob Bellamy. Rob's background is in fine dining and super-yacht galleys, with stints cooking in Bali, Greece, Spain and the UK, and his menus lean Mediterranean while using seasonal Australian produce. The team caters homes, backyards, hired venues and yachts across Sydney, with a coordinator looking after each event. Canapé packages are the most flexible option for a party: six hot and cold pieces such as Peking duck pancakes, kingfish ceviche or lamb backstrap with whipped fetta, stepping up to substantial bites like wagyu sliders and spanner crab rolls, signature bowls such as braised short rib or paella, and petit tarts to finish. Feasting menus serve two proteins with sides and salads buffet-style, plated menus offer alternate-drop entrée, main and dessert finished on site, and grazing tables of charcuterie, cheeses and dips can be added to any booking. There is also a pizza station using Gozney ovens rather than wood fire, so it can set up on balconies and in venues that ban open flames while turning out hot pizza for hours. Every menu carries gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes, and allergies are catered for. Canapé packages start at $42 a head, feasting menus at $65 and plated two-course menus at $75. Prices exclude GST and staff, and every booking has a minimum food spend of $1,200.
How many canapés should I order per guest?
The entry package gives six canapés a head, which suits a pre-dinner reception. Adding a substantial item makes it heartier, and adding a signature bowl turns the canapés into a full meal for a longer party.
Is the pizza station wood-fired?
No. The station uses Gozney ovens that reach very high temperatures without smoke or open flames, so it can be set up on balconies and at venues that won't allow a wood-fired trailer.
