About Golden Gate Hotel
The Golden Gate Hotel is a long-standing South Melbourne pub where Clarendon Street meets Coventry Street. It mixes a traditional pub atmosphere with a modern dining room, and its functions team looks after birthdays, cocktail parties, engagement parties, corporate events and Christmas functions. There are four spaces to choose from. Upstairs, the Coventry Room has a central private bar, leather lounges, warm timber and windows over the street, taking 60 seated or 120 standing. Next door, the Library seats 14 (30 standing) and has a fireplace, its own bathrooms, audio and a bookshelf feature wall. On the ground floor, the Dining Room seats 40 or holds 60 standing with views of tree-lined Coventry Street, while part of the Main Bar can be sectioned off for up to 200 standing. The whole pub can be hired for 140 seated or 370 standing. Food runs from canapé packages at $37, $45 and $56 per person, with substantial items, platters and a shared family-style set menu of two or three courses. Drinks can be a cash bar, a bar tab, or standard, premium and deluxe packages from two to four hours, with cocktails or sparkling on arrival as extras. Corporate day packages cover meetings with morning tea and lunch.
