Paint & Sip in Moorabbin

On Chesterville Rd, Moorabbin, ArtBar Moorabbin runs its paint and sip nights in a room painted floor to ceiling with bright murals, with a licensed bar in the same space. Eddie Balic, the studio's resident artist and a working muralist and portrait painter, talks the whole room through one design stage by stage.

First-timers make up most of each class, which is why every painting begins as a light pencil sketch on the canvas and only then gets its paint.

Inside a class at ArtBar Moorabbin:

• Plan on roughly 2.5 hours, of which the opening 30 minutes is for getting a drink and settling at your easel.
• Paints, brushes, an easel and an apron are ready for you at your spot.
• Each painter leaves with their own 40 x 50cm canvas, packed in a carry bag.
• Chips, nibbles and cheese platters can come with you, while wine and beer are bought at the bar.
• Booking as a group? List everyone's names so the studio puts you side by side.
